All good meals start with a solid appetizer (or two). The menu at the Carlyle is not the largest I’ve seen, however their options are fantastic! To start, we had the Blue Crab Fritters – with roasted red peppers and grilled cry salsa and the Tune Poke – Ahi Tuna, guacamole, ginger, cilantro & spicy mayo on crisp nori chips. They both were light and definitely awoke the tastebuds.
I will admit, I glanced at the dessert menu before ordering my main entree and went with something a little less filling. I went with the Caesar Salad 2.0 – mildly spicy with sourdough garlic croutons and Reggiano. The dressing was super light and the flavor of the blackened Chicken was bold, it the best way.
Drumroll please….Old Fashioned Banana Pudding! Yes, it was delicious as it looked!! Candied vanilla wafers, caramel chocolate sauces. I know this looks like it would be ridiculously sweet, however it was more of a natural sweetness than a sugar overload – The best way to end a meal. Always Factor Desert when ordering your entree. 🙂

Go on and seize the meal.
