Being a Chicago native, it is hard for a hot dog from another city to grab my attention or tastebuds. I was blown away by the offerings from Stuggy’s in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore. Their large menu selection can have you standing, staring and salivating for minutes on end. You can get an all beef, bacon-wrapped, turkey, veggie, polish, italian and even wild game dog! Some of the menu options, just to get your mouth watering, are titled: Bob Marley, Beast, Bruce Lee, Maui Wowie and the chosen one, for my first time; The LA Dog.

This masterpiece is an all beef dog, wrapped in bacon and deep fried, stuffed with cheese, grilled red peppers, grilled onions and Stuggy’s sauce. Each bite was a California dream. Because the dog is deep fried, there is a certain crunch you get with each bite, and the flavor resinates throughout. Of course you can’t eat at Stuggy’s without an order of Duck Fat fries. These fries make you wonder why all things aren’t covered in duck fat. I would highly recommend checking out Stuggy’s when you roll through the Baltimore harbor.
