I’ve eaten at Dickey’s a few times since moving to Texas. Overall it does the trick to satisfy the BBQ cravings. I wouldn’t say it is the best in the area, but I’m never disappointed. I usually get the brisket sandwich and it is delicious, but on my last trip there I got the Smokehouse Salad – chopped beef brisket, romaine lettuce, shredded cheddar, fried onion tanglers and ranch dressing. It was surprisingly very good. I had never put ranch on brisket (which is strange, because I love to put ranch on everything!), and the first bite was an obscure mixture of flavor, but once my taste buds and I had a quick talk about being more excepting, the rest of the salad was very much enjoyed.
I have a feeling this will be the only thing I order from Dickey’s from now on. I felt much lighter when I left, yet full. And I haven’t’ seen anything like this on other menus. Simple, delicious, different – I would definitely give this salad a try!
Go on and seize the meal.
