Mexican Sugar definitely lived up to the hype – what a fun restaurant! I have to start with the atmosphere…there is a huge bar, lounge areas fully equip with comfy couches, high tops, and large booths and tables. This place is really good for any occasion…girls night out, first date, family dinner or in my case a corporate welcome lunch.

The guacamole was delicious and highly recommended, and the Arepa is a must! Griddled corn cake, ropa Vieja, slaw and cilantro crema, if you are having trouble picturing this, see below…

The main meal I chose was the salad with chicken and mandarin oranges with a Thai dressing, which was very tasty, but my mouth was so happy with the Arepa that anything after that was a slight disappointment. I didn’t try the tacos, but they looked great, along with the fancy tequila drinks that were being showcased as the waitress brought them to other tables.
I’m looking forward to my next visit to Mexican Sugar, maybe I’ll see you there!
