One of the first facts I learned about the great city of Dallas was that the Kardashians loved eating at Mi Cocina. And if they like it, well, I must try it out. I finally got my chance to eat there and was very happy with the chips and salsa, which is usually how I rate Mexican restaurants in Texas because there are so many! They queso was wonderful and the guacamole did the trick, not the best I’ve ever had though.

I ordered Ernie’s Chicken. Wow. It was perfectly cooked and the presentation on the plate was eye catching! Ernie’s Chicken is a Marinated Grilled Chicken Breast topped with Queso and Crema (very, very good!) served with Guacamole, Arroz and Pico de Gallo. Each bite had so much flavor and even though I got full quickly I kept eating. I would definitely order this dish again.

I’ve sometimes felt overwhelmed when going to Mexican restaurants because a lot of the food is the same, just put together in a different order. I always suggest asking the people you are with what they recommend or even the staff. I’ve had great luck with “the favorites” and most popular dishes. I also recommend trying something new, something you haven’t seen at other restaurants. It keeps life, and lunch, exciting!
