One of my weaknesses, besides food in general, is ordering the “special”. The taco of the month at Torchy’s Tacos in October was The Scarecrow. The Scarecrow: Pumpkin seed breaded chicken tenders with roasted poblano peppers, then topped with escabeche carrots, queso fresco, cilantro and creamy chipolte ranch – Served on a flour tortilla. I mean, how could you not want to try that.
This taco was very tasty, and I would order it again in a heartbeat. The creamy chipolte sauce completely balanced out the crunch of the pumpkin breaded chicken tenders, and the escabeche carrots added a flavor I’ve never experienced before. All of Torchy’s menu items are delicious – I’d like to give a personal shout out to the Fried Avocado Taco, Mr. Orange, the street corn and the Little Nookies (deep friend chocolate chip cookies with powdered sugar and cherries!)
Torchy’s Tacos – Various locations in Dallas, Austin, Allen, Houston, Fort Worth and Southlake.
Go on and seize the meal.
